Before you send that email...
I've been enjoying marketeer Seth Godin's blog for a while now and today's email checklist had me nodding my head as I read it.
While many of the checks should come naturally, 36 is a bit much to expect everyone to remember, but there were three that are worth remembering:
Could I do this note better with a phone call?
Yes, often. And it gives your RSI-suffering hands a break.
Have I included the line, "Please save the planet. Don't print this email"? (If so, please delete the line and consider a job as a forest ranger or flight attendant).
Why do people include this line in their signatures? It's never made a difference to whether I print an email or not.
Could this email be shorter?
Yes. Delete the "save the planet" line for starters.
