Books and stuff
Just a quick update on my reading efforts. I recently finished Lois on the Loose. If you want to know how a little Yamaha 225cc dirt bike can go from Alaska to Argentina you should check it out.
I'm now a few chapters into Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy -- cheers, Gary, for the heads-up on that one. The storyline is excellent, although it's not the easiest read. It's being made into a movie, directed by Ridley Scott. If it's anything like the book, it'll be both captivating and extremely violent.
Once I finish Blood Meridian, I've got Ted Simon's Jupiter's Travels lined up. Which should set me up nicely for my own little bike trip I have planned for the summer -- from North Somerset down to Dorset and the south coast, along to the south-west tip of Cornwall and then up through North Devon and back into Somerset, visiting friends and family along the route. And since I have the most awful sense of direction of anyone I know, my journey is also likely to take in Cardiff, Carlisle and Cambridge.

Be sure to let us know when you're really lost and cycling past the Wirral and I'll put the kettle on ;)
That's more likely to happen than you realise -- only I won't have any idea that's where I am :)
